Truth is, I've never seen anything wrong with cannabis. Nothing. I never knew why it was so demonized. It just never made sense to me.

Like many kids growing up in the 70's, I tried it as a teenager. and honestly... I liked it.

Back then, we had to sneak around. Even as adults you had to. It was totally on the naughty list.

We called it weed. Grass was in the 60's. Ganja came much later, and never really was what we called it in Maryland. Pot seemed to stick, as does sticky pot. But I digress.

Weed costed $15 an ounce for good stuff. Good, meaning Aculpulco Gold, Sensimilla, and Panama Red. If you were lucky, you'd find thai sticks. You could find hash fairly easily, too. There was a lot of behind the gym and in the woods going on in school.

Once I got out of school and looked into careers, I chose Realtor. They never drug test, meaning you can smoke weed and it's no one's business. They still don't test for alcohol or drugs to be a real estate agent. Go figure.

I moved on to management, mortgages, title work- I even taught a little. It was a fine career, but, like most, it got old. That's when I got to thinking about what the ultimate 'job" would be, if I could do anything.

Remember when you were young and someone said to choose something you love, then it's never work? It's true. I realize that now that I'm older I don't have the pressures alot of other people have. Meaning, the bills are paid and I get to do what I want. Well, I knew years ago that I love to travel, and I've known for years that travel, writing, and taking pictures is what I truly love to do. I combined the three and came up with the idea to find a niche in the travel industry and fill the void. The goal was to be able to work remotely, maybe even from the back of a yacht.

Having been a cannabis user for over 50 years at the time, I decided cannabis tourism would be my niche. I haven't worked a day since. Meaning, this is fun, I love it, and I love the people I've met along the way. Love the interactions. Love seeing, learning, growing- and staying vital and active.

When I was in Jamaica a couple times back I witnessed a pilocybin "ceremony" and was totally impressed not just wtih the preparations, the thought, the setting... but with the tenderness and compassion I witnessed. It dawned on me that plant medicine should be a part of my niche as well: cannabis goes hand in hand with centuries of medicinal needs, and with other plants that have served the same purpose. Mushrooms. Ibogaine, Ayahuasca- these natural healers have been used since the dawn of time, and are experiencing a revival of interest. I honestly find it fascinating.

Being an open minded individual, I see these as things others might want to know about. When I hear how effective psilocybin and ayahuasca are proving to be for our veterans with PTSD, I get excited. I see people with addiction pushing through the barriers with the help of these medicines. I've learned that the healing is part plant, and part shaman. It's not just the journey- it's who is there for you. Hmmm... kinda' like life, eh?

So, I've got some years left in me. I intend to continue doing what I do until I can't do it anymore: travel, take pics, and write. Hopefully I'll make more friends along the way. I'll surely see some wonderful festivals, places, and sunsets. Probably eat some good food now and again, too. Hopefully I can touch a few others who want to do the same, maybe help make their lifestyle as rewarding as mine has become. It's a life of discovery, flfillment, new friends, and... weed.

Because weed isn't bad for you, after all. But we all knew that all along :-)

Welcome.
