So, you go to a place you've never been before- and it blows your mind. In fact it's so nice you promise yourself THIS is the place you'll return to. Maybe yearly. Maybe even buy a house. We've all been there, and no matter how much we want to think we'll be back, we just never know, right?
Sure would be nice though.
It's staggering how many places there are to visit. The choices are literally endless. Do we invest our vacay bucks where we "know", or go exploring further?
Allow us to make the point:
If you like it, YES! Do it! Go Again!
You'll get so much out of it!
Sure has been what I've found to be true with Jamaica.
I remember the first time I went, things weren't built yet. Plans were made, hopes discussed. Marley's house still stood, kinda. Now you're very fortunate to be taken by Marley's own cool cave pool, on his property, which I saw this last trip. Full circle.
I remember being told about the caves. With all the bats. They'd all fly out on the full moon, and locals would enter the caves and sing. Fellowship. Community.
Trip before last, I went into a cave rich in history. With healing waters, (darned if they didn't get the kink out of my back. I never even thought about it the rest of the trip). Oh- and an altar. History, A place of salvation from the overlords, a place of prayer, and offerings. And community. Full circle.
I remember being told not to drift out of the eastern side of Little Bay, as your whatever would be flung into the ocean and deeper waters. Needless to say, I did not challenge that warning. But now, I enjoy the other end of Little Bay, where a private resort. with 2 beautiful private coves entice you to explore and play, and the serenity allows you to totally relax. Three coves in one place, barely touched. Full circle.
The best part of it all is that all three full circles represent continuity, community, and culture, all authentic to Jamaica. It's been a wonderful time getting to know the country on a deeper level. Truly. It's been especially rewarding making treasured friends along the way, too.
